I don't remember any speciefic maps for Mauritania alone while doing research some years back, just the basic (non-existent-) tourism ones. Found the Michelin NorthWest-Africa to be fairly decent map for Mauritania while travelling there, contained even sand pistes going into the desert, water wells, desert forts marked etc.

I've used the Gizi map as well, but due to it's scale it's only really useful for route planning, rather than navigation. I found this map, coupled with OSM maps downloaded onto my Garmin 276, and waypoints supplied from the Gandini Mauri guide book got us everywhere we wanted to go, and back!

Never thought much of ITB or Gizi, but for driving must be OK in RIM as there are only 2 or 3 roads - maybe 4 by now.
Besides free OSM and similar but imo more readable Garmin (20 quid), don't forget the Bab Sahara paper map for off roading. Sold in Atar.
And there are old 200k IGNs for getting granular (below)
All listed here:

priffe is right, Bab Sahara (in Atar) have maps. These are hand drawn with local knowledge. They cover Atar, Choum, Chenguetti, and surrounding areas. Available for sale in Atar, Atar airport, Choum, at Bab Sahara, and some other locations I think. There's a 2019 version has been made, but not sure when it will be available.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
