Bearing or courier needed Khorog, Murgrab, Osh road
Hi all,
A long shot but is anyone travelling this road and A - has a rear wheel bearing 6004RS dimensions 20x42x12. For a DRZ 400. They wouldn't mind parting with.
Or B - Would like to bring one south from Osh towards Murgrab / Khorog and ill grab it off you somewhere or you will pass me looking forlorn by the side of the road and thownit out at me.
Im currently in Khorog but cannot find a matching bearing at the min and dont want to machine my hub to fit a bigger one (if its even possible here). I need to be out by the 17th so ill probably leave here shortly and hope the lose one holds out.
I have a friend in Osh looking for one now who could give it to you.
Cheers
Byron

If you have a loose bearing, do not go out into the emptiness of the Pamir. A wheel bearing on the way out is unlikely to last more than 100 km.
You can go thousands of Kms with a dodgy steering head bearing, but a wheel bearing disintegrates very quickly. Once its gone, you are immobilised. The balls will all fall out. You will barely be able to push the bike.

I'll second that, I had one go very quickly on "bumpy paved" roads. Caught me by surprise how quick it went. I lost my balls too !

I'm the friend in Osh. I have the bearing (with help from Patrik of Muztoo). Haven't found anyone heading Murghab direction yet and as SuperBC says his visa is up on the 17th. I'm going to try find a taxi heading that way in the morning but if anyone is heading that direction please let me know and ill meet ye anywhere in Osh. I've no bike anymore to even ride to the border.
Thanks, Tadhg

I have new front and rear bearings for a DRZ400 in Bishkek, you can have them if you replace them with a new set later.
I also have many other parts for a DRZ like cables, tubes, pads ect ect

Thanks Patrik. I've forwarded the details to him. He had a puncture today so I'm not sure how far he's gotten.
