Ice Camp Barneo, North Pole
Please find my trip report from the Russian Ice Camp Barneo at the North Pole here: Ice Camp Barneo, 89°N, North Pole, Russia - Gentleman Adventurer
Although it is theoretically possible, no one has ever driven there by car or bike

I have to correct myself: the Russian Yemelya Expedition reached the Geographic North Pole by car in 2013 - and they crossed the whole Arctic cap from Russia to Canada.

Yes, that's right. In 2007. Top Gear: Polar Special - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"On the morning of 2 May 2007 the GPS system confirmed that the team had reached the 1996 location of the magnetic north pole at 78°35.7′N 104°11.9′W "
The magnetic North Pole (of 1996 !) is a much shorter distance than the geographic North Pole. They drove just 7 days, ca. 500km, from 74°N to 78°N. That's at least another 1.200km to the geographic North Pole. A bit of a PR stunt. Nevertheless, quite an achievement by Top Gear.

The seemingly little known Shinji Kazama has been there first on his modified Yamaha TW200. He reached the North Pole on 21 April 1987, and the South Pole on 3 January 1992. Kazama's trip to the South Pole set an overland speed record for the journey (24 days) which stood until 2005. He also set records for elevations reached on*Mount Everest*(5,880 metres (19,290*ft) in 1985, 6,005 metres (19,701*ft) in 1986),*Mount Kilimanjaro*and*Mount Fuji*by motorcycle.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
