I think we have contacted in FB )) Here is a few possibilities to buy second hand bike. It local web portal (kolesa.kz, here you can use google tranlate to understand the prices and the bikes we have for sell in Almty), and few bike shops. But i don't think this will be easy to sell that bike back to shop or to private persons. Kazakhstan as well as surround countries isn't really "bike" orientated countries, like south-east Asia. But anyway we have communities and enough bikers. So, as i wrote you in PM, i can guide you somehow and assist locally. First of all, the better will be to tell what kind of bike you are searching for. May be the better option will be rent motorbike in Bishkek ? It could be cheaper and it is 250 km away from Almaty. We can check those possibilities.
Regards,
Rinat.

i am arriving at around the same time! aiming to be there on the 25th of may. Finding a motorcycle shouldn't be too much of a problem, but i'm more worried about registering the bike and being able to ride it out of the country as a tourist. how does one go about this? I'm probably gonna look for a 125cc japanese bike on kolesa, 250cc at the most.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
