Russia travel insurance
Hi all,
I am an Irish citizen applying for a Russia business visa and need proof of travel insurance coverage to support my application. I am unable to find any travel insurance companies which provide coverage for Russia at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers!

I just got a Russian visa in UK and they didn't ask for proof of insurance. When I've done it in the past I've just shown them a 'worldwide' policy and they were happy with that. If you have a Russian tourist office in IRL they will help you through this, it's in their interest to get as many visas issued as possible.
Obvs when you arrive in Russia it's a good idea to buy health insurance at the first big town. The state will cover treatment for accidents but any follow-up is down to you. Big companies who should cover you (and may have online portals to buy) include Rossgosstrakh and AllfaStrakhovanie.

This is obviously moot with the current sanctions situation,or then again perhaps not; but when I went in 2018 I bought health insurance online from Alfastrakhovaniya, which cost me not much, and got it printed at a copyshop in Poland before reaching the border. I don't need a visa, but it was listed as a requirement to enter the country, although nobody asked for it.
I also bought vehicle insurance a few days later from the same company at a physical office in Kaliningrad, and that was equally cheap as well as friendly.
Here's the link to the insurance company that I mentioned. I haven't bothered to figure out how you would go about paying nowadays but I hope it helps somehow anyway: https://www.alfastrah.ru/individuals/travel/vzr/russia/

When he applies for Visa, he needs proof of travel insurance, otherwise he gets no visa.
So I would recommend to get it from the visa agency too.
They can issue a travel health insurance, when you apply for the visa.
And vehicle insurance you get at the border

Funny and also lucky.
Because Travel health insurance is mandatory for getting a visa.
And it has to be even written on the insurance, that it also works in case of Covid19
