I have missed out Wales so need to go there!

Having travelled various parts of the world over the years I seem to have overlooked Wales! Having lived in the UK all my life that's pretty poor going. So aint got long just a few days of really for a quick jolly my question is :

1. Top? - Snowdonia Nat. park & Anglesey

2. Middle? - Shropshire Hills across to Aberystwyth

3. Bottom? - Brecon Beacons & Pembrokeshire

I have 4 days total - It will take more than half day to get there, same to get back. Just about the ride and nothing else on my trusty SR250.

In central Wales my two ''musts" are the back road from east of Aberystwyth to the Elan Valley (through Devil's bridge) and (my favourite) a tiny little road through Abergwesyn Common, over the devil's staircase, round Lynne Brianne and through Rhandirmwyn to Llandovery. Stunning.

Hope you enjoy.

Cheers
Andy

Nice Roads in North Wales

Go through Tanats Valley - Road from Oswestry across to Bala
A495 turns to B4396 then B4391 into Bala
From Bala take road across towards Traswfynnydd but take a right when going along there and head for Ffestiniog
A4212 out of Bala
B4391 to Ffestiniog

From here you can then take road towards Betws y Coed

Lots of options for places from here.

What I do now know is don't go in caravan season. There are millions of them, or at least every caravan on the planet trundling along all the lovely twisty scenic roads. Just had a few days there at it could have been so good.

I did a quick tour couple of weeks ago, with out a shadow of a doubt picked the wrong place and wrong time. Caravans everywhere! Terrible, did not enjoy.

Went again last weekend. Elan Valley area Bliss. That road from Elan Village to Devils Bridge is great. More than makes up for he pack of 6 or 7 sheep dogs that attack me elsewhere.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
