Indonesia, Bali

Lovina: hotel Manik Sari; coordinates: S 08 09 688 E 115 01 566. Manik Sari is tucked away in a small alley off the noisy main road. I paid 150.000 idr for a spacious, comfortable room but they have cheaper ones too (ask for it). Friendly staff.

Jatiluwi: Teras Subak Homestay; coordinates: S 08 22 034 E 115 07 799. May I highly recommend Teras Subak Homestay? It has a gorgeous view over the rice terraces, a UNESCO heritage site! The twits from Kuta and Ubud come on their rented scooter or moped or with their 4wd and guide after 10 am and leave around 4 pm, so, if you stay at Teras Subak you can enjoy an early morning walk without becoming hor(r/n)ified by pink dresses and you can watch the sunset with a Bintang at hand. The family is very hospitable, your room is comfortable and the food is not unforgetable. Stay! I paid 250.000 idr which is a very reasonable price for this location. Parking in front of the homestay, not guarded.

Titra Gangga: Rijasa Homestay; coordinates: S 08 24 702 E 115 35 281. Simply a lovely place, right opposite the waterpalace so, like the aforementioned homestay in Jatiluwi, you can visit before the crowds arrive. I paid 175.000 idr. Parking in front of the homestay, not guarded.

Padangbai: Wisata Parta; coordinates: S 08 31 852 E 115 30 500. DON'T stay here unless you are a bedbug masochist. I stayed in three different rooms and all three had bedbugs. The friendly staff tries to contain the problem but according to me it's hopeless. No adequate parking too.

Great places to stay in Sanur Bali

I would just like to post 2 biker friendly places to stay in Bali, Indonesia.
Griya Asri Studios | Long & Short Stay Accommodation
Sindu Guest House - Sanur Bali Accommodation
Both have great places to leave your bike which are safe. Both have a online booking form as well.
Be great to see some more travellers here in Bali. :-)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
