OEM Brake Pad Material
I'm doing the brakes on a friends 2014 DR 650SE. he's concerned about excessive wear on the discs when using sintered pads so he asks this question "Does anyone know if the OEM pads are organic or sintered? part #s are 59300-13830 Front and 69100-32839 Rear. so far Partzilla and the local Suzuki dealership have no answers. this may be a long shot but thanks in advance for reading this topic

I don't think any OEMs fit organic pads. The life can be pretty short if riding in sandy conditions. Yes, sintered pads will wear the discs a little faster but IME it's not a problem, they'll still last a good long time. If they bike is going to do a very long journey maybe consider starting with new discs?

I don't know what the OEM pads are made of, but my experience on DR650s (140,000 miles, 3 bikes) is that the OEM last a fairly long time, do not destroy the rotor and work better than the aftermarket pads. That's what i would use.
(My highest mileage bike was 70,000 and the rotors were still fine.)
Take it for what it's worth.

Your friend must be a mountain biker, in which there are distinctions between organic and metallic pads--some rotors are specified for organic only, because apparently they wear rapidly. For motorbikes, not so much (if at all). As pointed out above, I'd be more concerned with dust, dirt, and especially sand.
I'd be interested to hear any authoritative information to the contrary.

Thanks for the replies everyone, another concern he had is the squeaking/groaning often exhibited with sintered pads, so we'll go with OEM pads. just as a side note, one of the parts guys at Suzuki told me todays EBC brake pads have gone to crap, whatever that actually means I didn't ask, but since he has 30+ years experience in the industry I'll take it for what's it's worth.

Forget the OEM decision. That is based on cost and safety !! Not performance.
I don't know what they are. I don't think you should care either.
Consider the difference between HH and Organic for the replacements.
Organic definately gives more feel. They're more progressive and less 'Grabby'.
HH give the best performance and will stop you faster. But at the risk of control and the sacrifice 'feel' and progression.
HH will wear your discs quicker but not at a rate where you need to worry about it.
I like Organic on the rear and HH on the front. That suits my riding style.
Offroad bikes generally use Organic F&R because you don't want grabby brakes on trails. A race bike will use HH front and rear.
There are a lot of variables. But on a V-strom, I would use HH front and organic rear.
In the real world, you'll unlikely notice any difference on a bike as heavy and soggy as a V-strom anyway.
As for "EBC going to sh*t"... I don't believe that for a second. I use them on all of my customers bikes and my own.
