ER6f
Hi all!!
Could anyone please give a bit of insight. After a conversation at work about RTW trips my co worker is convinced you need a GS or alike. How ever I've decided I could do it On my ER6f with just a few mods to make it "battle ready". Say sump protection radiator protection a more appropriate set(s) of tyres and I think re routing the exhaust would be sensible being as its under the engine infront of the back wheel!! Just wondered what the HU world thought?
Thanks J

If someone can do it on a C90, it should be a breeze on an ER6f.
Or a postie bike ...
Or an R1 ...
Tell your co-worker he is talking out of his @ss.

here, as they say.
In fact, the answer is to trade in your ER6f for the super/better Kawa Versys KLE 650, then you are ready for anything; it has the 7 inch ground clearance that you seek.

Nah, they get the support vehicle to drive them to a hotel!
Ted Simon used a Triumph with about the same ground clearance as a current Bonneville or Enfield Bullet and there is MORE tarmac in the world today than in 1974.
Use the bike you understand and want to ride. Spend your money on petrol unless you do want to get a particular bike for the trip.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
