Depression after a big tour
I experienced a depression for a long period of time after I came back from my tour of 76 days from India to UK on my 350 cc Enfield in 2013-14. I am from Gujarat State living in INDIA.
I don't know what happened or how it set in. I did read such things do happen after one is back home. I was sure that such a thing can never happen to me. I was not depressed to an extend that I needed to take medication but almost a year went by - dull and depressed.
The best thing is NOW I am out of it and back to normal, raring to go again. I have penned my travelogue and hope to get it published in a few months from now.
Has anyone experienced such a thing or mine is one of the odd case ?

campsite ,game park reservations, reading others trip reports.really helps

I experience this my first day back at work after a 2 week holiday! Assume much worse after a long trip.
I figure its a sign of our good fortune. For a while we have the luxury of living a life of leisure/pleasure. Thats a total privilege most don't have.
Then we come back to 'normal life' and face the fact that most of the time our lives are driven by the necessity to work. Takes a bit of accepting when we've tasted freedom!

The clinical expression for that condition is "Back in the rut - itis".
Problem is it isn't jut back in the rut, but comfortably back in the rut and even worse, deeper in the rut than before.
We spent a year teaching in China and within days of getting back home were applying for other teaching jobs and were back within 6 months. Since then, we have never stayed back home for more than 4 months and then only if I have a major project under way.

i dont want to sound "religious" but i guess depression stems out from not knowing who created u and worshipping and thanking that creator will remove that depression. IMHO.

Just a polite reminder in order to nip any ill-feelings in the bud. Discussions on the topic of religion are not permitted on the hubb. There are plenty of other online forums where this topic can be discussed.
Thanks for your help.

Depression
There are a lot of non-medical reasons to be depressed after a big trip. Back to the hum drum of a normal life. Back to a regular job dealing with a boss and cranky customers. Losing your right to set(and reset) your own schedule on a whim. etc, etc, etc. I was lucky in that I just got into the grove of saving and planning for the next adventure.

We experienced the same thing, for at least 6 months. In fact, 4 years later, it's still with me!!! Plan the next one!!
