Need your help finding a lost rider in Bolivia. Nicolas Holzem, 44, White DR650

Hey guys, on June 16th 2019, 44 year old Luxembourg rider Nicolas Holzem crossed the border from Peru into Puerto Acosta, Bolivia and got his immigration/customs stamps. After that, the trail goes cold and we are still trying to figure out where he went after that.

His sister Catherine started a thread in the South America section to look for him:
https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hu...iker-his-99089

She is flying to Bolivia in a couple of days (August 8th) to start a search for her brother and find out what happened to him.

She thinks that he was headed for La Paz on June 17th and that the next place he wanted to visit was the Yungus Road, aka Calle de la Muerte.

Most of us who have done these trips know the risks involved and how lucky we were to avoid a bad situation.

We need to all pitch in here and figure out where Nicolas is.

The reason why I decided to post this here is the search thread in the South America section has been getting a lackluster response from Hubb riders who are actually doing South America trips right now. I figure that this section is a better place to find local riders in Bolivia who can show Nicolas' picture around and ask questions to local motorcycle groups/ shops, restaurants, hostals, hotels, etc in the area.

Holy shit, I met this very cool guy in mexico months ago. Keep me updated on if you guys find him!!

Note:

He showed me pictures of his rides, and he loves to go off the beaten path and off roading on his bike. He didn't have the best safety gear, so he may have gotten stuck somewhere with a mechanical failure or gotten hurt. Best thing to do would be to look for all the off-roading trails near his last known location and begin to search there.

Drive to every single hostel first thing and ask about him - he hops hostel to hostel you should be able to trace him to the day he went missing by tracking the hostels - get access to his booking and hsotelworld accounts. Then you have a search radius.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
