Amsterdam - Australia
Hi,
I've been wanting to do a trip from Europe to Australia for a while now and recently decided I should just do it. I'll be doing it on a BMW R1200GS Rallye and my starting point will be close to Amsterdam seeing I'm a Dutch national.
I thought it would be more fun and safer to try to find other people to travel with, either the whole trip or parts of it. Traveling with someone can be a challenge at times so we could each go a different way if/when we feel like it and meet up again at a later time for example.
I was thinking about this for the route for now: Europe > Turkey > Georgia > (Maybe Azerbaijan/Baku) > Russia > Stans > China > India > Nepal/Kathmandu > India > Myanmar > Thailand > Malaysia > Indonesia > Oz
So either China to India to Myanmar to Thailand. Or China straight into Thailand.
I haven't picked a date yet so I'm very flexible with the planning and route at this point.
Are you looking into doing the same, please send me a message or reply in this thread
About me:
- 29 Years Old
- Dutch
- Speak Dutch, English and a tiny bit of German and French
- Currently a self employed IT specialist
- Will be driving a new R1200GS Rallye
Cheers,
Bento

Hi Bento,
I will be doing similiar trip next year together with my wife. We are going on two bikes. Will be traveling from Poland to New Zealand. So there will be 3 stages where paid turist guide is required currently.
Stage 1 - China (KKH) from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan / around 4/5 days trip / we are planning to enter China around 10.09.2018
Stage 2 - Myanmar and Thailand from India to Laos / ~10-14 days for both countries / entering Myanmar early November 2018
Stage 3 - Thailand from Cambodia to Malaysia / ~4 days / entering Thailand early/mid December 2018
I am planning to prepare and post seperate threads about it soon to gather people for sharing cost. If you plan to ride there around similiar dates would be great to meet.
Best,
Lukasz

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
