Hi Sway. I'm touring West Africa now. I set off from England nearly 7 months ago. I'm currently stranded in Accra as the Benin embassy 'lost' my passport and it looks like I'm going to be here for at least another 4 weeks until all that's sorted with.
I don't know how fast you travel but seeing as it took me 6 months to get to Ghana you very well may catch up with me if I leave Ghana in May.
What's your route?
All the best.

After our own trip over the west we are trying to collect all links to travellers who did or are currently on the west route:
Travellers on the west route of africa who write a Blog or have a Website from 2012 upwards:
Link: Trans-Africa: Travellers on the west route...
Please help me to maintain this list - and write a comment if you want to add a link.
Not all travellers write a blog, so you may meet other travellers as well. But here you can optain the most recent informations I guess.

We will be setting of to Morocco in September and crossing into Mauritania early December. Did you have any issues with Mauritania (borders or otherwise). Any advice?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
