circumnavigation of the med september 2017 (1 month)
looking for anyone who wants to attempt the following: in part or in full.
UK ferry to santander.
spain - portugal - gibraltar
ferry to morocco - algeria - tunisia (ferry from morocco to spain to algeria due to border dispute)
tunisia ferry to sicciliy, accross italy - ferry to greece or Albania dependent upon time.
montenegro - bosnia - croatia - slovenia - austria - switzerland - france
HOME
obviously algeria/tunisia will be a challenge and dangerous compared to the other countries.
leaving september 1st (ish) 2017 return 30th (ish)
mix of camping and hotels in certain countries.

Crossing from Northern Algerian into Tunisia isn't a problem at all ... the majority of northern Algeria is fine, even the south isn't too much of a problem apart from the authorities always worrying about you!
Good luck finding someone, should be a great trip!

Probably just a mistyped sentence:
"ferry to morocco - algeria - tunisia (ferry from algeria to spain to Algeria due to border dispute)" I'm pretty sure he meant "from Morocco to Spain to Algeria".
This should be a great ride, though possibly costly both financially and time wise on ferries, and sadly missing out a fair part of what these countries have to offer in-land. Just remember that September can still be very hot in the Maghreb countries. Ride on!

hi creer, thanks for the comments. interesting you say it is quite safe. most people are advising me against going to Algeria and Tunisia. do you have any recent experience there as i am desperately trying to find out how safe it really is. i suspect, as you intimated, that its really quite safe it you keep your wits about you.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
