Hey Manuel,
I´ve done the same trip a month ago, so i won´t be coming with you... I just wanted to say you really should do it, if necessary alone! Don´t miss the Transalpina in Romania, even more beautiful then the Transfagarasan...
Cheers
Olli

Also don't miss the Llogara pass in Albania, which you want to take from North to South.
And Theth is also fun, you probably heard about it. If you like offroad driving you can also take the Southern road back from Theth to Shkoder or the Lake Shodra Resort camping (is really nice).
The Southern road is much harder, and may annoy you by the amount of bumpy road, but the scenery is nice. Get up early and drive it in one day, don't take hitchhikers on this road. (you probably can't anyway)
Gjippe beach is nice for camping, although getting more busy. Pretty rough path down, but maybe with the bike it is not so hard.

Just got back from 5 weeks in Romania. Transalpina is a must! Ride it southward and take Faragas pass back north for the best views. Also some great off road driving in the central mountains where the ice cave is. Can't remember the name at the moment.

Hey Manuel
Yep you should do it & enjoy.. We did it 2 up in August , but being a whimp we did Hostels & Hotels ~ Hi quality & dirt cheap in Romania , Serbia etc.
Romania is well worth the ride ~ I would have liked to carry on to he Black Sea.
I would not recommend the Tranfagarasan ~ we did north to south ~ overrated with lousy roads & too much forest, so no real views.
AnyWay gutt Fahrt

Hi Stefan. Are you still heading to Romania in July? I am riding from London to Transylvania in mid July. I will pass through Germany, maybe we can join up for a while.
