Ireland - Australia 2020
hi all
I'm planning to ride from Antrim in Northern Ireland to Perth In Western Australia departing early spring 2020.
Roughly the route will be
Zig zag through Europe, Turkey, ship bike/bikes to India, explore India and Nepal, cross into Myanmar and get a guide through the country to the Thai border, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, then ship the bike/bikes to Darwin and do a long lap of Australia completing the trip in Perth.
Testing the water if anyone would like to join for the trip, parts of the trip or even just double up on shipping (if there are 3+ bikes if can work out cheaper getting our own container than shipping individual bikes, time permitting of course)
Anyway if anyone would like to chat, ask any question or offer any advice I'd love to hear from your.
Josh

Hi Josh,
Are your dates for departure set in stone? Also what kind of riding are you in to and what bike are you using? Do you intend to camp or hotels etc?
I'm interested in discussing more if you could push out dates but understand if not. I'm from Dublin btw.

Hi Simon,
Same questions to you...I might be up for a European ride about for next summer. What bike are you bringing? What countries are you thinking of covering?

There are 2 of us travelling together, using a rally modified 701 Husqvarna and a 650GS Dakar.
No dates set in stone and can be altered within reason, we are fairly fluid.
Mainly camping but we never pass a cheap cheap hotel!
It might be worth setting up a group chat to discuss potential plans

Hi Simon
We too are planning shipping our bike to Uk in 2020 from Perth, WA. We planning on leaving around May, roaming Europe for 4 months or so. Who are you shipping your bike with and is it going out of Freo?
Cheers
Todd

Hi Todd
I’m shipping my bike (r1200gsa) at the end of January so it there by the 24th March. I will be using a shipping agent called Transways. Perhaps we can meet up soon and compare notes on insurance, shipping etc. I live NOR.
What bike are you taking?
Cheers Simon

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
