Noordkaap After the HubbUK 2014

Hi!

I'm registered to the HubbUK 2014, and planning to turn north after the event, all the way to Noordkaap...

Itinerary still undefined?

Anyone going my way?

All the best,

JazzMD

NordKapp 2014

Hi Jazz,

My plan is to go to Morocco in April/May, return to NL for the months of June and then July-ish go to the Nordkapp! Time and itinerary completely open. I see the UK Hubb ends 22nd of June so that is around same time, so maybe there are possibilities. I will keep on eye on the adds for this trip. There are a couple of more threads on the same trip.

Cheers,
Noel

PS; are you Dutch, spelling Nordkapp as Noordkaap?

Great! Lets see how things go...

My plan is to ride from Lisbon (my home town to answer your question) to Santander and from there take the (first) ferry to the UK...

Eventually, although nothing is written in stone, after the HUBB, the plan is to take the ferry to Denmark (i believe there are no ferries to Norway), and from there head north..

All the best,

jazzmd

Nordkapp

He Jazzmd,

How much time do you have for this trip? What kind off Km/d are you thinking off? Assume mostly camping? Off road?

Cheers,
Noel

Hi Noel:

In total I'm plannig for about a month

Travel North from Lisbon and take the ferry in Santander or Bilbao to the UK.

After the Hubb, I'll probably travel north and do some sightseing in the Uk and take the ferry to Denmark. From there keep on following the compass probably going up through Sweden and Norway, and the if I'm good on time maybe a visit to S. Petersbourg and then through estonia, latvia and lithuania...

But nothing is written in stone...

What do you think?

All the best

Speed

Hi Jazzmd,

One month for that whole trip? That is a lot of driving per day! From my place to the NK and back is already some 8000km, the scenic way, not the shortest way! How much time do you think you need to get to the NK once you landed in Denmark?

Cheers,
Noel

more than a month

I think you're both right....

Six weeks is probably a more reasonable time frame...

Best,

It's a great idea to arrange an adventure leaving from HUBBUK...

I think I'd love to set off for a 6-8 trip in June. Nordkapp would be one on my shortlist. It would have to be a lot of free camping as that's a VERY expensive part of the world to travel. Beer prices would have be broke in a week

However, I won't know if I can until May due to work/money commitments.

6 to 8 weeks!! That is pretty much what I have in mind . I will know by December for sure whether i'm going to quit my job for some R&R! April/May will be reserved for Morocco so late June to continue for the NK seems like a great plan!
Cheers,
Noel

Great! I'll be touring Morocco in September, so we'll have plenty of things to talk about!

All the best! And my best wishes for your December (big) decision

Camping will be a must! The portuguese economical situation is seriously conditioning all other options! lol!

Best,

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
