Peru to Ushuaia - September 2023

Hi All,

I am looking for a travelling buddy to join on a trip starting in Peru and finishing in Ushuaia. I'd like to start in mid September 2023 to get the sweet spot of the weather. I have 6 months time so no hurry, but could also do it in a shorter time.

I would buy the bike in Peru and then probably sell on at the end of the trip. I am an experienced traveller and moderately experienced off-road motorbiker. Ideally the trip would be done as much as possible off the beaten path.
I am originally from UK and now based in Zug, Switzerland.

Would be great to hear from anyone who is potentially interested in joining.

Cheers, Iain

South American trip

Hi Iain. Unfortunately its a year early for me as Im planning the same sort of trip for October 2024, however would like to keep in touch and grab some of your knowledge and planning experiences if you dont mind. Was thinking of transporting a bike there and then selling it at the end, in Argentina or Uruguay.

Glenn your time line could work with my possible plans. I’m still not sure whether I can head East from the UK or whether I’ll be shipping my bike to either North or South America.

What are your intended plans?

Peru to Ushuaia

Hi Iain,

I am also planing to buy a bike in Peru mid or late September. Although I don't have six month and am not heading to Ushuaia it maybe the same route from the start: Lake Titicaca, Salar de Uyuni, North Argentina and San Pedro de Atacama. I am also a moderately experienced off-road biker and have been one time in Chile. If your plans match, contact me.
Greetings

contact

Hi Iain,

you seem to have a nice plan, I have a similarone, so maybe we should try to get in contact and seem if if it suits and fits.

I’m currently in the US and plan to ship my motorcycle to Colombia in August, then going further south.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Arnulf

Hi Iain, I'm entering Peru now from Ecuador. I'd like a riding buddy from Chibote to Huascaran Natl Park & The Sacred Valley--> Lake titicac, through Bolivia (Uyuni), and down through Ushuaia. Let me know when you land in Peru and have bought your bike. Would like a riding buddy for segments

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
