Who's got some time for an adventure?

Winter rolls on here in Europe. My Vitamin D stores are low and my "fernweh" is high.

I started thinking that there has to be someone else out there that is looking for some inspiration to meet up somewhere warm, rent some motos and go get lost for a while. I do usually ride solo but I also like riding with someone to share the experience. My buddy who'd usually be game for some spur of the moment trip is out due to a torn up knee.
So how about you? Are looking for a push to go somewhere and ride?

I am open to ideas but I was thinking we could meet up in SE Asia, (Hanoi? Bangkok?), Africa (Capetown? Windhoek? Marrakech?), S. America? and take some adventurous roads to some cool sights and off-the-beaten-track villages. Ideally, if there is more than one person interested, I would like to keep the group to a max of three. More than that I think it is tougher to organize.

About me: Married, early retiree (M 55), good shape (for picking up bikes if necessary) and am a pretty chill person to travel with. I could enjoy a beer or two after dinner and a day of riding but that is about my limit.
Ich kann ein bisschen Deutsch, e posso parlare B1 italiano - but if you're reading this and this site, your English is likely better than my German or Italian.

About you: Easy-going personality is most important and I don't care if you're 20 or 80 as long as you like to get out and see someplace new on a moto.

If you're interested, let me know and we can talk.

Cheers,
James

Hi Hans,
Thanks for the interest and reply.
I am flexible but I'd prefer to go sooner than later. Next month? Sooner? What does your anticipated timeframe look like and do you have any strong feelings about a destination?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
