Carnet for a Ukrainian motorcycle

Hi guys,

Are there still any companies that issue carnets for vehicles registered out of their country? In Ukraine there is no way to obtain a carnet and ADAC has stopped issuing carnets for anyone outside of Germany, Austria and Netherlands.

That is an issue, best place to start for info is here on HU: https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/li...ated_sort=DESC
The FIA is the headquarters for the CPD, link on that page. Try them.

Also of course search the HUBB, there might be someone who has answered this issue recently.

And if you get an answer, PLEASE let everyone know!
thanks, and good luck

Quick update on my issue:
CARS (carnetservices@carseurope.net) agreed to issue the carnet if my local automobile club confirms they wont do it. Waiting for confirmation
TCS (cpd@tcs.ch) - same but price looks better
ACS (info@acs.ch) - same, waiting for the price

The most responsive are CARS, but the price is very high for me. Looking for other options.

Let us know the price, and remember that there are usually TWO methods - one as "insurance" and yes expensive, and the other guaranteed by your bank, with simply a service fee - much cheaper but harder to get now.
Expensive carnets are one good reason for taking an older bike!

Final update:

CARS, TCS, ACS have agreed to issue the carnet after the confirmation from my local automobile club that they don't provide the service.

My countries are Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar & Japan.

CARS (carnetservices@carseurope.net) - £235 + £125 express fee + £60 delivery to Turkey + either £1,779.82 (of which £1,250.00 refundable) or £5,500 (of which £5,000 refundable) deposit

TCS (cpd@tcs.ch) - EUR 570 + EUR 20 delivery to Turkey + EUR 5'000 refundable deposit

ACS (info@acs.ch) - CHF 500 (carnet + delivery) + CHF 3’000 refundable deposit

In euro approximate costs would be:
CARS - 500 euro carnet + 2 options for deposit, each has ~600 euro non-refundable fee
TCS - 590 euro carnet + 5000 euro deposit
ACS - 470 euro carnet + 2800 euro deposit

The choice is pretty obvious.

I have to say WOW. ACS issued and sent the carnet same day they got the payment. They also used urgent mail, and the package is in Turkey the next day. I totally recommend ACS.

I have a similarly favourable experience with TCS.

Simon - how did you manage to get TCS to do a Carnet for you, I thought that we had to use the CDP agent in our home country? The prospect of having to go to CARs does not thrill me and if I could use TCS or ACS that would be good.

You DO have to use the Carnet issuing authority in your home country - unless your country - like Ukraine - DOESN'T HAVE ONE.
You USED to be able to shop around - a little - but that's been tightened up apparently.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
