When you get your insurance at the ATM office it is most important to tell them that you also need full Mercusor? cover, this is a green form with all of the countries covered listed on it and costs no more. The plastic card that ATM gives you is only valid in Argentina. Ride safe.

Thanks to the OP for the post, and accurate info.
Information still accurate today, and is 66 pesos for 30 days. Still spoke English.

still accurate!
I was not asked for insurance going via Cardenal Antonio Samoré Pass (Osorno - Bariloche). There were however a lot of police checkpoints into Bariloche, I was not stopped.
Zanella were friendly and efficient. I purchased 6 months for 432Peso (72 Peso per month). They are a bike shop too btw!
Thanks to OP :-)

Hello all-
We will be crossing from Bolivia (Villazon) to Argentina next week and cannot get a straight answer about where to buy it. I see the information above but it still looks vague. Any suggestions with specifics are appreciated.
Thanks,
-Terry

Hi Terry,
You could send ATM Seguros an email to info@atmseguros.com.ar
I just did, I'll let you know when I get an answer. Their insurance is also valid in adjacent countries and Peru, but you have to request this to them as I think they will give you a more detailed certificate.
Cheers,
Leo

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
