Shipping Bike from Vancouver to Whitehorse
Has anyone relatively recently shipped a bike from either Vancouver or Vancouver Island to Whitehorse?
If so, I'd love to hear about options. I'm even open to getting someone to ride it up there for me as long as I get to know the person first.
I'm aware of Manitoulin Transport which has frequent service in that area but would like some additional ideas if possible.
Last summer I attempted to get to Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean but was not allowed into the Northwest Territories due to Covid. I made is as far as the Arctic Circle on the Dempster Highway (Amazing ride). Due to lack of vacation time I can't redo the whole trip and I'm hoping to be able to fly into Whitehorse and start from there to finish the missing part.
Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Have you ever thought of Port Hardy to Prince Rupert ferry Bring a floor mat if you dont want to stay in a cabin to sleep then to Kitwanga, Cassiar, Watson Lake White Horse its a 3 day trip
Rupert to Watson can be done in one day if the weather is good
but I dont recommend it there is way to many things to see if you have a big tank
this part of BC is Awesome

Thanks for the idea. It's something I've definitely considered. I came down the Cassiar and into Stewart last summer during my unfinished trip. It is indeed very beautiful.

Try contacting a local dealer to see who they use for shipping bikes from the warehouse, might be useful, they can also ask the warehouse who they use to ship to Whitehorse for dealers there - or call Whitehorse dealers...
good luck, and let us know!

Now that the border is open (or "open"), you can traipse down to Bellingham and hop on the Alaska ferry to Haines, Skagway, or occasionally Whittier, Valdez, or Homer (if desiring greater complications in your life). Skagway is just a day's ride to Whitehorse, and quite scenic if it's not raining.
I don't know if it's again possible to get off the BC ferry in Prince Rupert and get on the Alaska ferry, but this used to be straightforward. From your home it might be simpler this way.
I haven't a clue what shipping would cost, but the ferries are (or were once) a blast. I do know that prices have gone way up, and that reservations are best.
If you opt for the Bellingham option, give a shout in advance and I'll try to provide whatever might be useful.

Thank you Grant and Mark. I'll definitely check with the dealers up in Whitehorse. I am looking into the ferry as well.
