Hi guys,
I am trying to find agent/company, who can organise transport Turkey (Istanbul) - Nepal (Kathmandu) including customs clearance, crate and other duties.

Anybody knows any contacts please?

Motofreight or James Cargo are both excellent, and recommended. They've both been shipping bikes for a very long time and know what they're doing.

Also be sure to check out the HU Shipping Database!
Hundreds of shipments made by travellers to and from everywhere, loads of shippers info, the good, the bad, and the ugly....

Be sure to post YOUR information there when you get done to help other travellers!

Hi, I found good contact to agents in Turkey, who can handle this transport and here is the info.

Turkey - Nepal
To give you an idea :

Export process , including customs , handling , service , crating is apr 1000 usd PER BİKE , as of today .

Since we are having hard time with the airlines about flying this type of cargo due to battery and fuel residue , we prefer LCL OCEAN SERVİCE over air ! And for this reasonyou would need a different planning due to Port issues , and transit time .

And for LCL ocean you can use an estimation of 1000 usd freight including istanbul port charges, excluding artival port.

With air you need to calculate the freight apr 2500 usd .. just an estimation based on experience .. but valid only in case the airline accepts the cargo .

If they use shipping how do they get it into Kathmandu as Nepal has no access to a shipping port. Curious as may be interested in a similar idea.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
