Greetings from CO, USA
Howdy All,
I've been riding off and on for around 38 years (I turn 50 next month). I am "reasonably" well traveled but not yet from the seat of my motorcycle. My rides have been long weekends of 3-5 days mostly in the states of Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, and Utah. I'm planning to extend that distance this summer by going to the CanWest event in August. My stable is decidedly a shorter range, aggressive off road pair of bikes (KTM 950 Super Enduro and 450 EXC) but until I fully torture myself with some distance on them I cannot justify the expense of a more appropriate long distance scooter. I hope to learn more about that at CanWest (2500+ plus miles round trip for me) and then get a good deal on a Suzuki V-Strom 650 or similar 100k capable bike that doesn't eat tires like Skittles. I'm working on blogs where you can meet Mistress Kitty (the 950 SE) and get some idea of what the American west is like for those interested. I'll post links when ready. I look forward to meeting folks at CanWest and learning from everyone.

Hi John and welcome,
A great part of the world to motorcycle, I am currently in Moab and can vouch for the quality of the roads and scenery around the Western United States.

Thanks Mark! You Sir, are a bit farther afield than I get even though you happen to be in my area at the moment. Moab is a great base to explore Utah, Arizona, and even SW Colorado from. Enjoy your ride.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
