Hello from Clovis CA
New here and really enjoying the site and the good folks.
Currently ride a Husky TE449 DS. This is my first bike ever but been riding quads and three wheelers long before those. The Husky is a great machine and Im having a blast in my local mountians. I happen to have the Sierra Nevadas, Kings Canyon and Yosemite as my playground.
While the Husky is a blast, Im getting older and this thing can hurt you if your not careful. Im thinking about slowing it down a bit and I now have an uncurable itch for a medium weight ADV bike. Want to do some Mexico touring and USA as well. I think Ive found my machine, the Triumph Tiger 800XC. It just speaks to me. This site and the friendly advice is not helping my situation with the wife! I think an XC is in my near future.
Thanks for the good work here.

Hi McKay,
Welcome!
I first breezed through your area in '85 with a backpack on my back. Stayed in 3 rivers for a year and bought a '76 wing from Sanders in Visalia.
You're right, you live in a wonderful playground! wish i was there still
See you on the road someday.

Yes I have a Suzuki SV650 but feel an XT660 might suit adventuring more.....guys at the bike cafe club love the TIGER though........

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
