Hello From Germany
Hi everyone!
I'm writing this sitting on one of the last 2 chairs in our living room in munich, germany. Besides me my wife fights the soon ending battle of her studies. Next month we will move back in with my parents, in september I'll quitt my job and we'll be heading east. All the way east....
Although we don't want to plan out any details we would like to go through greece, turkey, iran, pakistan, asia to australia. In our garage are two Honda CB 500 which we are currently preparing for the trip.
As our families and friends are yet to be persuaded on this idea we seek some encouragement from fellow travelers who don't think we are totally nuts (we may be).
So Hi everybody!

To me, from what you are saying, if you 'seek some encouragement' then are you sure it is not you that needs some slight amount of convincing that what you are about to do it a great adventure?
You shouldn't need to persuade your family or friends, best to let them be how they are. I would suggest you have better things to expend your efforts on. Like being excited.
Once you are out and on the road with your wife, all packed and heading east, well, the world will seem a very different scene then how it is presently for you. I imagine you will both smile and breathe a huge sigh of relief that you are actually following through with your intentions and that you smell the calling of the East.
As you might guess, we all want to hear about your adventure, so do I hear a trip report being started, ja?

New to Horizons Unlimited?
New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!
Horizons Unlimited was founded in 1997 by Grant and Susan Johnson following their journey around the world on a BMW R80G/S.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
