Hi,

I just want to introduce myself. I've lurked off and on a bit here, but I've finally gotten my shit together (maybe) and am leaving tomorrow on My XR650l to see if I like life on the road enough to just keep doing it indefinitely.

First goal along the way will be Xela, Gautemala where I'll catch up with my gf who flew there a couple days ago. I'm planning to ride baja without much rush, then possibly rush to Xela after getting on the mainland with the possibility of heading back into MX after. Eventually I might end up in Argentina.

I've done The NMBDR but that is about the extent of my dirt experience, I'm definitely looking for more.

I got a wild hair and made a bunch of my own soft bags to take with me, so hopefully they will hold together, at least for a while.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a note and show myself. Hopefully I can figure out how to navigate this site better, I know there is a lot of great info here.

Here are some pics during the process of getting the bags together and the pile of stuff I'm gonna weed through tonight to see what gets to go in em.

I'm super open to recommendations on must see things or people to meet along the way. I like epic nature of course, but also offbeat things and people of all kinds. I'd always rather see the second coolest thing around without a crowd than the coolest thing if there are gonna be throngs of tourists with me.

All my social media stuff is under the same name I have here if that matters.
