Essentially, can licensed drivers bring non-registered motorcyles into China temporarily? I've read about temporary vehicle registrations but do not think temp. reg.'s apply in this case.

China stopped all permanent used motor-vehicle import ( legal) years ago. Temporary China import of an outside registered motor-vehicle is quite troublesome and reckon the same rules + regulations apply as for transiting "guided" individuals / groups as discussed at length all over the various HUBB threads. Lets face it, it is what it is and still involves ridicilous trouble / red tape getting into the motherland with any form of motor-vehicles and won't change anytime soon by my limited experience ~ sorry to say...
As mention in my other post earlier today, count yourself lucky holding a valid lengthy China travel visa and valid China d-license but reckon won't make a difference on temporary motor-vehicle import ~ residents in China (Foreigners with valid China Resident Permit / China Z Visa / D-license) would do it all the time if it was so easy... nuff said'....
