Huay-Xai 4th Thai - Laos Friendship Bridge visa

Hello folks;

Has anyone done the Huay-Xai 4th Thai - Laos Friendship bridge crossing from Laos to Thailand recently. Did you get visa on arrival ? Well technically the visa exemption for 30 days? Or was it 15 days?

Just wondering whether it's worth getting a Thai visa in Vientienne before entering, I want 30 days and the bike gets 30 anyway, then some land borders give 15 some give 30. Although they're all suppose to be giving 30 now... we just hear there things but.. border stuff changes often..

So yeah, any recent Laos - Thai crossers and how many days did you get on arrival at the Huay-Xai crossing?

Many thanks
Oli

If you are a UK citizen you will get a 30 day visa exemption.
This is a new rule and practise from 1. november 2013.

Copy and paste from the Thaivisa-forum:

Quote:
Update 1st November 2013, citizen from USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan will be allowed to stay 30 days if enter via a land border
.

But check with the thai embassy in UK to be 100 % though.

cool I just wanted to confirm as each crossing might be different... found this though

7 nationalities now get 30 day visa exemptions to Thailand overland? : Travelfish Visas and border crossings travel forum

actual reports of people having done it and gotten 30 days. Phew... will just pop into Vientienne now and not have to bother with the Thai Consulate...

cheers
Oli
