Post Latent info for travellers Iran/Pakistan

Hello,

Me , and Alexander , who i met along the way are currently in quetta.
He is our experience of the last couple of days.
We started at zahadan, no need to wake up at 6, because escorts to the border start not before 9 o clock , we were there at 8
We were finely on the road at 09.20 u,it took us 1.5 u too reach the border,
Waiting time at the iranian side almost two hours,at the pakistani border even longer, and with the 1.5 hour differce is was already 15.30u
So too late to travel any further. We asked the policeofficers if we could camp inside the policestation. Seemed to be no problem. The little grasfield was just big enough to put our tent there.
Next morning we rode 300 km too dalbandin , and the following day to quetta
Nothing new here, two long days of riding across bad roads, slow escorts, lost and lost of checkpoints.
But when we arrived in the bloomstar hotel in quetta, they told us to go to the governement dep of tribal ,to get a licence to,travel threw bollichistan .
So the next morning we went to the governement , with an escort ofcourse
After we went to office 20,27,3,16 then 20 again we got our licence 3 hours later
I never read That on the forum, maybe it's something new, still again something timeconsuming.
Other info , when you change money at the border, you get a beter rate changing dollars then euro.
Cash redrawel in ATM machines are not working in quetta, take enough cash.
Route from, quetta to multan via loralei is closed for tourist, you have to go south via sukkur
So far the info, w'll keep you informed

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
