I used to live briefly in Sindh (Hyderabad), a truly enchanting part of Pakistan. I'm not sure if Karachi's traffic police will stop you - once you are out on the Bela - Khuzdar - Quetta highway there are few checkpoints and they are not used to foreigners, so who knows, maybe you can sneak through. Near Quetta it seems certain you will attract an escort as they watch for foreigners.
I would try to cut up from Khuzdar to Kharan. I was caught quickly in Kharan (there's a neglected old castle) and escorted to Nushki. Quetta us maybe my favourite city in Pakistan, but it seems that foreigners are not allowed to leave the hotel there. Being very, very low profile is the key.
Just try your luck. But like I said, I doubt you will get far without escorts.
Karachi us fun, enjoy your freedom there!
