Why can't Pakistanis visit Kerala?
Hi all
This is idle curiosity more than anything, and if the Lonely Planet site was working OK I'd post it on Thorn tree rather than here. But - in following the recent happenings between Ind and Pak in Kashmir, I came across this:- BBC News - India puts visa deal with Pakistani on hold
It makes mention of 'Pakistanis would (not) be allowed to visit Indian-administered Kashmir, Punjab, Kerala and "other prohibited areas" '
The first two I can understand, but why on earth Kerala?!

God only knows.
It's a "family fight" and those are always the most intense and mostly intensely stupid.
In my 6 years of living in India I sent my employees to Pakistan numerous times. They were treated exceptionally well and marveled at how what they were told about Pakistan and the reality differed.
Other employees, generally London-based, who were of Pakistani origin (having a parent of Pakistani birth) could NEVER get a Visa.
It's only in the last two years that it was legal for a Pakistani FILM to be shown or sold in India !
The Kerala part could just be a game - "see, it's NOT about Kashmir or the Indian Punjab".

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
