London-India in Yamaha Xmax 125cc

Hi everyone!

I am decided to start London-India in my Xmax 125c in September this year, it may sound crazy to do it in a scooter but that's the bike I have and the one I like .

Any recommendations would be really appreciated though!

Thanks!

I recommend you do it, have a good trip and write up in trip reports about it. On a serious note I have done a couple of longer trips on small bikes and they are fine, the last one was 3,000 miles in India on a Hero 150 and it was a good bike for the trip.

Why not - give it a full seevice and put on fresh tyres, brakepads etc. And bring spare parts and research where you can get wear parts along the route. How many kms do you get out of a set of tyres? Plan accordingly and see if there are tyres available that fits your scooter along your planned route. Are there any weak spots on that model? If so consider upgrading it or bring spare parts. How often does it need new oil and filter? Plan accordingly. How long is your range? Plan accordingly.

Happy travels ans dont forget to write a trip report!

Hi,

It's been a while since I was here- so exciting to see what everyone is up to!

I'm starting to plan a ride with m'lady A from London to Mumbai. What route are you (did you) use (using/used)?

Cheers,

ZenBiker

Rose across Pakistan and some parts of India with David. He could easily keep up with my '99 Africa Twin. It just proved everything is possible.

Not really... if you don't crash! haha. Oil is shit on those countries, be careful with that you put to your bike.

But if you plan to go to the north some roads will be closed on the cold months, when do you plan to go?

We spent a month there.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
