FWIW assuming that you have the correct key what I find happens most often with the Yamaha switches is that the fork locking mechanism on the south end of the switch locks up rather than the tumblers.
They're generally pretty easy to remove. Two bolts from below. A good soaking and a few love taps will usually get them moving again.
We don't have 34l's over here but if they're equipped with locking fuel caps or helmet locks Yamaha keys all three identically. If the key will operate either of those odds are that you have the correct key.
