Newbie to forum
I do not have a yamaha cycle but a discontinued LIFAN C25 cycle. This bike is a clone of the Yamaha Virago XV250 in many respects.
I recently rebuilt the carb and the fuel bowl gasket from yamaha fit perfectly. There was a lot of yellow/greenish crud inside the fuel bowl. I used GUMOUT to clean out every hole I could find. I did not make an attempt to take out the needle valve seat as the brass set screw wouldn't budge and I didn't want to break it off. Same was with the primary jet, wouldn't move so I sprayed both jets thoroughly. The carb is a makuni with the numbers 25 88 L657 imprinted on the side of the bottom casting. Not withstanding and looking for trouble I did not make any adjustments to any screws except the throttle screw. I didn't touch the fuel or air screws, but I feel I need to eventually. Another reason why I'm in this forum.
I bought this bike mainly because of the price, and the "owner" a third party said it ran. He tried starting it on the trailer and it did run but not for an extended period. When I got it home I started to find little problems which got bigger. I'll relate that at a later time.
