Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

The price in Euro was 2'065.-, support by Olaf was very good.

I built the crate for my BMW R1200 GS Adventure myself with parts received for free from a Yamaha dealer. The box must be completely closed (I wrapped thick paper and plastic around it), so that nothing can be put in.

In Anchorage, the box with the bike was picked up by a friend and taken to https://www.themotorcycleshop.com/, which unpacked and serviced the bike (reconnecting battery, putting windshield and rack back on). They pack and ship, but also receive bikes from/to anywhere in the world.

Bike was sent two weeks before my departure and ready when I landed.

We completed shipping our GS1200 from Turbo, Colombia to Carti, Panama on June 16th, 2017.

There was basically two stages and two boats, and nothing was organised in advance.

Turbo to Capurgana with Captain Christobal Rodriguez ph: 3147938125 he does two trips per week between Turbo and Capurgana, Colombia. His boat name is "No Hay como Dios".

From Capurgana we found another guy with a fast boat, but there are also sailboat options.  Our guy was called Bolo and his whatsapp is: +573108947750

Neither of the captains speak english.  Both did a very good job and were reliable and caring of the bike.  Both were interested in more work with bikes.

We were also supported by a Swiss guy who owns Hostal Capuragana in Capurgana and he is willing to help in future.  His name is Silvio and email is: silvio.gubler {At} gmail.com

The entire movement of two people, bike, panniers, etc was USD900.00 and took three days (long days).  We cleared Aduana in Turbo, then next day boat to Capurgana where we cleared immigration.  One night in Capurgana and next day to Puerto Obaldia where we cleared customs and immigration in the morning while the bike stayed in the boat, then on to Carti, Panama, but with three more stops for fuel.

After arrival in Carti we geared up and drove to Panama city.

This option was the fastest, cheapest, most convenient and for us most adventurous option that we found.

We had spent months trying to organise and get info but found hardly anything helpful or reliable.

Hope this helps someone.
