Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Air Canada Cargo

You will need to contact the local Air Canada Cargo office at your point of departure for local details.

Fly Your Bike Program

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) Departure, 12 April 2017.

We booked directly with Air Canada for our flight tickets and shipping of the motorcycles under Air Canada’s ‘Fly your Bike’ program which has run in the summer for the last few years. Communication on the motorcycle shipping is done with the relevant Air Canada cargo office, in our case London Heathrow. We provided all information requested which included registration, VIN etc. Air Canada Cargo will provide an Airway Bill number, which is the key tracking number you will need at delivery and collection. Motorcycles are to be delivered, we rode ours, to Air Canada Cargo LHR located at Building 553 Shoreham Rd East, London Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, TW6 3RG off the Southern Perimeter Road. Air Canada Cargo will ask for the motorcycle to be delivered to them at least 24 hours before scheduled shipping date to ensure all Customs paperwork can be completed in time. This would be simplified in our case, we think. as the motorcycles were UK registered.

After completion of paperwork, credit cards were accepted for payment which is not always the case, do check beforehand. Motorcycles were ridden into the Cargo area and loaded panniers removed for X-ray. We were able to leave helmets in top boxes. Fuel tanks below 25%. Check the Air Canada Cargo website for terms and conditions. We left the motorcycles and stayed overnight near Heathrow for a following day departure to Canada.

Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) Arrival, 14 April 2017.

As our motorcycles travelled around the same time as we did and we arrived late afternoon, we waited until the following day to collect our motorcycles. You travel to the Air Canada Cargo area by taxi, it is on the opposite side of the airport to the Passenger terminal.

Join the queue in the Air Canada Cargo office and wait for the next agent. Airway bill will be produced and then you need to go to Canadian Customs to obtain their clearance. This is about 10 minutes walk away. Note we both had to go as we had two motorcycles. Customs may decide they wish to inspect the motorcycles, in our case they did not. Returned to Air Canada Cargo and paid them CAN$110 for local processing. Motorcycles were delivered on pallets, removed and we loaded up and rode out.

Second time we have used Air Canada Cargo Fly your Bike program. Very happy with the service.  Due to capacity issues our motorcycles ended up in Toronto rather than Montreal. As we were heading west, Air Canada Cargo arranged for us to fly down to collect the bikes on the same day.

Very responsive to email and did 100% of what they said they would do. Bike arrived almost to the minute that they said it would.

Clearance in Phoenix is easy you DO NOT need an agent, go to Customs first at the following address, you will need multiple copies of your airway bill, your passport, driving license. They will stamp your paperwork and once done go to the airline cargo warehouse (in my case Delta) 2 minutes drive away.

I was with Customs for approximately 3 minutes!!!

Hello; I want to recommend Brazil as a motorcycle travel destination. It was the highlight of my trip through 15 countries in Latin America. You can easily ship your bike by air to or from Sao Paulo with Augusto Leocadio,
motoshipco@gmail.com +55 11 9.8152.4142. I found him through the HUBB.

I shipped my bike from Sao Paulo to Seattle with Augusto and can say that he knows the shipping business, is very professional and pays attention to details. My bike arrived without a scratch, with all my riding and camping gear, clothes and other stuff in my boxes. The bike was secured in a steel framed box which I'm keeping for future shipping.

Also, Augusto is associated with Touratech Brazil which has a great shop in a nice, safe area of Sao Paulo plus another one in Joinville. Gabriel Colafemina (gabr...@touratech.com.br) is the owner and he has great people working there, André and Stephano. All these people became good friends of mine. I left my bike with them in full confidence. They also have scheduled tours organized by BMW Rider Experience.

Brazil is a fantastic country with a huge variety of roads, including amazing mountain twisties, my favorites. The food is great, there is lots of campgrounds or hostels to stay at, the beaches and brazilian beauties are legendary but best of all, you will meet the warmest, friendliest, most helpfull people and will be invited to stay at their homes, meet their families and friends, eat at their table. They are the nicest people I have met anywhere.

In concusion I would say; don't stop in Buenos Aires, go to Brazil! You can ship your bike to or from there with Augusto. If that doesn't work you can join a tour with Gabriel. They're trying to develop their business and I know they will do their very best to help you.

It was the 5th time I shipped (Air) a F800 GS overseas and by far the most hasslefree, easiest and cheapest experience of 'em.

Gail prepared my quote, contract, instructions, invoice and freight documents superquick and so she answered all my questions within minutes.

For some reason I had to fly in the same plane (passenger ticked was cheep) but therefor the bike check-in was super easy:
24 hours before departure I dropped the bike with panniers full of equipment and gear (no liquids, electronics, inflammables) mounted, less than one gallon of fuel and disconnected battery, uncrated at the freight building, where they strapped it safely on a pallet.

Because I arrived in Paris on a sunday I picked up the bike the next morning. It took about 90 minutes to handle all the formalities (customs, freight etc.).

As offered the entire shipping costs were 1'085 USD, Airport tax where another €90.

I highly recommend Motorcycle Express and would choose them again.
