From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.
For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.
Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Shipment: From Mumbai, India to Felixstowe, UK - April, 2014
I shipped a BMW 1200 gs. The $700 up front fee was for crating , a full customs handling service in India and shipping to Felixstowe.
Mustafa was brilliant. He speaks excellent English and is very easy to deal with. I dropped the bike off on the outskirts of Mumbai. Visited the city centre to drop off some documents and the process was complete. I spent no time whatsoever with Indian customs officers etc etc.
Crating was a bit dodgy. Although the bike survived with only very minor damage (kill switch broken, some scratches to the screen, a BMW roundel nicked from the fork headset)
They gave me an accurate idea up front about UK port charges. They recommended a UK agent who was brilliant (Shu Burford at Wainwrights Shipping)

In contrast on a previous trip I used James Cargo which totaled £1681
Would I recommend or use again... without hesitation.

He is a small operator, 1 truck and trailer, makes regular runs throughout Canada and USA. He is a "less than truckload" carrier so he can pick/drop things along the way. Airfreight to Miami from Bogota, BMW R1200gs with luggage, $833US.
Four working days to set up. One day to prep for flight/wait for inspection, etc.
easy peasy. Wash bike, remove mirrors and windshield, shrink wrap after customs inspection. Wait, and wait some more for customs, done.
picked up next day in Miami. Run around looking for money order...only acceptable payment.
deal with rude US customs guy. US Customs in and out of US were the rudest of 11 countries! :-(

Shipped my KLR 650 as part of a 20' container consignment of goods to Cambodia. Excellent service and very competent personnel (Ms Rotha Long) in the Phnom Penh office.
I paid import duty on the bike of USD512 so the bike could stay in Cambodia for a while (I had one month to ride then back to Australia for 2 months then back to cambodia for more riding).
All up a positive experience - Crown relocations arranged everything and called me at the hotel when the bike was ready to be picked up.
I paid the import duty later after the accounts had been settled by Crown.
The transit period was about 2 months from drop off in Brisbane to Pick up on Phnom Penh
