Shipments done by Travellers

The HU Shipping Database!

From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.

For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.

If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:

Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.

Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!

NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.

Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

I used email only to deal with Marwan and he was very helpful.

The bike I shipped is a 2007 KLR 650, I used a factory steel crate from the current model and the fit was quite good. Only minor mods were needed to the mounts. I removed the front wheel, front fender, wind screen, mirrors, handlebars and hand controls. I stuffed the empty spaces in the crate with all my camping gear, tools and my riding gear. I was within 10kg of the volume weight, so it was a compact packing job. I brought my side cases with me on the airplane as luggage. The costs when picking up the bike were $41.50 US paid to customs. It took about 2.5 hours to do the paperwork, I just asked around until I found a person who spoke English and she helped get me going. A nice young guy who wanted to practice English hung around and talked to the guys in the warehouse for me. They let me un crate the bike right in the warehouse and let me leave all the garbage, "no problem" said the boss. If , like me, your plane is hours late, it might be a better idea to come back in the morning to get the bike. The workers at the warehouse had to stay late for me to finish assembling the bike. They didn't seem to mind at all but I still felt like a jerk.

Crated the bike ourselves and took it to the Canadian shipment company. I think they sent it to the Canadian east coast to have it shipped to Germany.
Total time of shipment: 4 weeks.
Picked it up in Hamburg ourselves too. Only thing that was not well prepared was the customs. Had a little struggle getting it our of the harbour. Took about an hour because some papers were missing.

For any reason, do not even ask for a quotation to this company.

Unreliable and unprofessional service.

Wrong date of shipment (initially said on 6th of August but it departs on 14th of August).

The initial offer did not include every cost.

A lot of hidden costs.

We paid double money for car clearance.

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE
