The HU Shipping Database!
From THIS page, you can find details of shipments ALREADY MADE by travellers, both air and sea, so you can plan your own shipment.
For each shipment, the details include Shipping Date, Cost, Shipper Contact details and a Description of the experience, often including very detailed and extremely useful information about the requirements for crating or the paperwork involved at the destination location.
If you are aware of any more up-to-date information, or you know of any shipping details for locations which aren't listed below:
Please let us know here for minor details, or
Submit information on a shipment YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE here.
Thanks to all who have contributed this information, keep it coming!
NOTE: This is not our normal view, but Google's API has somehow broken the view with a map and everything nicely laid out. We will fix it as soon as possible, but it's a very big job for us. Any Google API experts feel free to contact us! For now this will have to do, sorry.
Usage: Enter one or more of the fields, as you wish. Blank field means "all". Be sure to use correct country names, e.g. "United Kingdom" not UK or England. Unfortunately "united states" (united states of america doesn't work) gets United Kingdom as well, just work down to the bottom or last page. Not case-sensitive. Results sorted by newest first.

Shipment: From Penang, Malaysia to Belawan, Indonesia - October, 2016
Bikes were loaded on the Malaysian side together with our hemlets, boots and jackets attached to them. We paid 803 MYR to Mr Lim and were advised to try doing the customs clearance on Indo side by ourselves to avoid additional agent fee there of 2 mil Indo rupiees. We went directly to customs and cleared the bikes without paying anything there. If you need any more details please contact us via www.facebook.com/feeltheworld.pl.

Shipment: From Buenos Aires, Argentina to Miami, USA - October, 2016
Their shop is located in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. The shipping time from first visit with the shipper to arrival of the bike in MIami was 6 days (one day was due to Hurrican Mathew hitting Florida). This time period included the paperwork, paying the bill (downtown), dropping the bike at the airport, and the actual shipment. I did not fly with the bike, and the bike got to the States four days before I did.
Very easy to work with. Stopped by thier shop, they provided full and easy to follow instructions on where to pay and where to drop the bike at the airport. At drop off, I had to remove the mirrors, battery connections and windscreen, they palletized it and me and the bike parted ways. The departure part of the journey was very easy. Just make sure DakarMotos provides you with the EXACT infomration on where the bike will be upon arrival.
Upon Arrival in Miami, the US customs were a pain, they would not allow me to submit the paperwork to collect the bike. Instead, I had to pay a freight forwarder $200 to perform this task. Since I had no idea who did this, and I had no transportation to go look for one, I sat outside the customs office and asked everyone who walked by if they had a contact for this task. Within 45 minutes, I had a name, and 45 minutes later, I had the bike.
Shipment: From Melbourne, Australia to Valparaiso, Chile - October, 2016
I had troubles finding a shipping agent for my motorcycle in Melbourne. I never heard back from the first one after many emails back and forth, the second one told me her agent in Valparaiso doesn't take bikes anymore. I've lost a lot of time during my trip because of this and Ivan was a real lifesaver. When I contacted him, it took about a week to have my bike picked up. I was 300km from Melbourne when they picked up my bike, for which I paid about US$200. This and the crating costs are not included in the price, as this may vary from person to person.
In Valparaiso, I used Villa Kunterbunt as a shipping agent, they were very good. I paid about US$200 to them, and also about US$200 to the warehouse in Valparaiso.
Both the agents are recommended, wish I contacted Ivan from the beginning.

In October 2016 we shipped our two DR650SE (separate crates) from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur by air freight with http://www.eagleexportcargo.com/. Very proffesional and highly recomended. One day the bikes were meassured in order to build the crate walls before we got to the airport. Second day it took us 3hrs to take the wheels out and pack the bikes. You could see that it surely wasn't first bikes they shipped. :) Costs for two bikes was 1870 USD. It may be slightly higher than half of it for one bike as we split dangerous goods and waybill fee between two bikes.
Clearance was very easy on Malaysian side. Took a taxi from KLIA2 to MAS Cargo terminal (42MYR), got security passes to enter the terminal, paid terminal fee (for 2 crates) 137MYR, assembled the bikes, cleared them and drove away. :) We have used CdP as we were told it will be smoother and faster but it is possible to do it wothout carnet. Just watch the customs officer stamp your CdP as they did a mistake on one of ours, I just think they don't see it very often there.
